The IQRA Literacy Program is a first in Pakistan, and was designed exclusively for Pakistan
by WISE award winning Dr. Ricardo Rosas and team from Santiago, Chile
in collaboration with Deaf Reach...
An estimated nine million people in Pakistan have some form of hearing loss. Of these, less than 2% out of 1.25 million Deaf children currently attend school. The Deaf Reach program is the only branch network of schools catering to the needs of the Deaf community: A full circle solution from education to community inclusion and job placement.
" Schools such as Deaf Reach provide an oasis for those on the margin: it is a microcosmic community for the deaf, particularly those who come from underprivileged backgrounds. And passion of the students at being given this opportunity to explore the world around them is evident."
" The PSL Learning Resources are a unique and pioneering contribution which will serve to enrich the lives of many deaf children and their families."
" I was fascinated to see how the Deaf Reach children showed so much confidence while studying, meeting people and working on their individual projects! They weren't at all shy to come out and meet and greet us. These kids are following the regular Sindh board syllabus, and their first batch has already cleared college. I was speechless!!"
" Empowering the deaf can only strengthen Pakistan’s social fabric. The deaf community will be proud to take its rightful position within the diversity that is one of Pakistan’s greatest assets."
